Bushlight Resources
Bushlight has a strong focus on successful community engagement in the planning and provision of renewable energy services. To help develop good relationships with communities based on shared knowledge and understanding of energy issues, a range of resources have been developed by Bushlight. Many of these use pictorial translations of technical information, using culturally appropriate icons and visual prompts to encourage community understanding. This means community members are able to make informed decisions about their energy use.
Bushlight is also committed to creating partnerships with the RE industry and sharing the knowledge and experience built up over the life of the project. To achieve this, Bushlight has developed a range of other more generic resources, also included here covering:
- Education and training in operating and maintaining renewable energy equipment
- Coordination and correct installation of renewable energy equipment; and
- Ongoing maintenance support and training for major system stakeholders.
These generic resources were produced with the financial assistance of the Department of the Environment and Water Resources Australian Greenhouse Office. The views expressed in them are not necessarily the views of the Commonwealth and the Commonwealth does not accept responsibility for any information or advice contained in them.
As part of our aim to increase the effectiveness and technical capacity of the renewable energy network across Australia and around the world, Bushlight encourages you to utilise these resources in your research, community engagement or energy planning processes. To this end, all resources on this website are available for download free of charge. They are not, however, intended for commercial use or replication without prior consent from Bushlight/CAT. Please refer to our copyright statement in the page footer for further information.
Please note: in order to make these resources readily available to all, many have been compressed, thus effecting their quality when printing. For higher quality print-versions of these documents, please contact the Community Engagement Support manager at: enquiries[at]bushlight.org.au
