Project Outcomes
Bushlight produces fact sheets, case studies and an annual report to capture and report the outcomes of the project to the communities involved and our wider stakeholders. The project outcomes are defined as:
- Improved reliability of RE systems
- Improved community capacity and confidence to choose and manage RE services
- Improved technical support network
The extent to which these outcomes were met during the first four years of the project has been examined in an independent report commisssioned by the Bushlight steering committee. The report presents a full evaluation of the project based on process and documentation reviews and field research, including community visits and other key stakeholder consultations. It also offers recommendations as to the future direction of Bushlight funding. Delivered in November 2005, this evaluation was instrumental in securing continued support and funding for the project for a further two years. The Evaluation Report can be accessed here (1.2Mb).
Community energy planning, training and education; regular system maintenance; and user-friendly technology are some of the ways that Bushlight seeks to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes in communities.
